Already have Earth Realtime installed? You do not need this page: the app checks for updates by itself and offers the new version when one appears. See Updating an existing install.

System requirements

• Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. macOS, Linux and mobile builds are on the roadmap.
• 4 GB RAM minimum, with 8–16 GB recommended for the highest render caps. Earth Realtime tunes its memory use to the RAM you actually have, so a higher render limit is only as heavy as your machine allows.
• A GPU with WebGL support, meaning any reasonably modern integrated or discrete graphics.
• About 60 MB of disk space, plus room for any recordings you keep.
• Microsoft WebView2, which the installer adds automatically if your PC does not already have it.
• An internet connection. Every layer is streamed live, so the app needs to be online to show anything; the built-in manual is the only part that works offline.

Updating an existing install

You do not have to come back here. Earth Realtime checks for a newer version on its own and tells you when one is available, with a summary of what changed. You can also ask it at any time from ? → Check for updates. Choosing to update opens exactly the installer linked above.

Installing over an existing copy is safe. The installer upgrades in place: your settings, API keys, saved views, watchlists, geofences, last-seen archive and recordings are kept, and you do not need to uninstall first or re-enter your licence key.

The newest release is at the top. Older entries are kept so you can see how the app has changed, but only the current version is available to download.

1. Version 1.2.0Current

   • Active fires, with nothing to set up. Worldwide satellite fire detections from NASA FIRMS now work the moment you switch the layer on, refreshed through the day. No registration, no key of your own.
   • 600+ new curated cameras. More than 600 hand-picked live streams join the curated catalogue in this version, now 4,100+. Together with the road cameras from government transport agencies, the map now carries more than 50,000 live cameras worldwide.
   • AIS Hub ship data. A new source for vessel positions if you have an AIS Hub username of your own. Experimental.
   • Reset view button. A new house-icon control in the map navigation cluster returns you to the full starting view in one click.
   • 32 fixes across the app. Severe-weather dialogs no longer stack on top of each other, first-hour precipitation is more accurate, gliders and light aircraft read correctly, and recording, licensing and weather were all hardened.

2. Version 1.1.0

   28 August 2026

   • Full-screen monitoring mode. Turn any screen into a monitoring station.
   • Automatic emergency recording. Aircraft and vessel emergencies are captured from the moment they begin. Premium.
   • Dependable overnight recording. Long unattended sessions run through the night and keep going.
   • One file per recording. Each session is a single protected file you can move, keep or delete, and saving a long one shows its progress and tells you when it is done.
   • Announcements in the app. News, tips and new-feature notes now reach you right inside Earth Realtime.
   • Day and night in playback. Daylight sweeps across the globe in step with the recording, so a replayed evening looks like an evening.
   • Interface polish. Including panels that no longer overlap in the top-right corner.
   • Smoother with large fleets. Lighter and steadier during long sessions at high render limits.

3. Version 1.0.0

   First public release

   • One live globe. Aircraft, ships, satellites, public transit, cameras and weather together.
   • Worldwide emergency monitoring. Distress events surfaced wherever they happen.
   • Alarms and geofences. Be told when something you care about appears or moves.
   • Recording and playback. Keep what you saw and watch it again.
   • 3D and Street View. Drop down from orbit to street level.

One current version

Only the current version is available for download. It includes everything from earlier releases, and it is the same version the app installs automatically when it finds an update. The list above is a history, not a download archive.
