Privacy Policy

Earth Realtime ("the app", "we", "us") is a desktop application that visualizes public, live data on an interactive map. We designed it to be privacy-first: it collects no personal information about you, and the data you provide stays on your device.
Information we do not collect
- We do not create user accounts on this website. There is no sign-up, login, or profile.
- We do not collect your name, address, browsing history, or location for advertising.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties.
Data that stays on your device
Any API keys and agency credentials you enter, your saved views, watchlists, geofences, alert history, layer choices, and app preferences are stored locally on your computer. They are used only to connect to the data services you choose, on your behalf, and are never transmitted to us.
Live data feeds
When you enable a layer, the app requests live data directly from the relevant public providers (for example ADS-B, AIS, satellite element sets, transit feeds, road-camera agencies, weather and map tiles). Your device's IP address is visible to those providers as part of any normal internet request. Their handling of that request is governed by their own policies.
Where you supply your own key or agency login — for example OpenSky, AISStream, NASA FIRMS, Google Maps, or a road-camera agency such as Trafikverket, Statens vegvesen, UTIC or netraveldata — the app connects to that provider directly with your credential. That account is issued to you under that provider's terms, and the relationship is between you and them; we never see the credential.
Licensing and payments
Purchases, subscriptions, invoices, taxes, and renewals are handled entirely by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy (a Stripe company), through their secure hosted checkout and customer portal. Your email and payment details are provided to and held by Lemon Squeezy — not by us. To enforce licensing, our licensing service stores only anonymous technical values (such as a hashed license key, a machine fingerprint, tier, and expiry). It does not store your name, email, or payment information.
Recordings
Recordings you make in the app are written only to your own computer, in a folder you choose. Each finished session is packaged into a single encrypted .erec file that opens in Earth Realtime and nowhere else. Recordings are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we have no access to them; deleting a recording in the app deletes its file.
This website
This is a static website with no accounts and no tracking scripts. Standard web-server access logs (for example, IP address and requested file) may be recorded by our hosting provider for security and operational purposes.
Contact form and launch waiting list
Two places on this website accept information you choose to send us:
- Contact form — the name, email address and message you submit are emailed to us and used only to read and reply to your message. The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
- Launch waiting list — the email address you submit is stored and used only to send you the one-time launch announcement. It is never sold or shared. To opt out or have it deleted, write to info@earthrealtime.com (or use the contact form) at any time.
Children
Earth Realtime is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
